Window-Type Air-Con Cleaning Process

  1. 1 Lay waterproof sheeting at the work area (if required)
  2. 2 Test that the air-conditioner is working before cleaning
  3. 3 If it is working, remove the filter and front panel
  4. 4 Remove the indoor unit where practicable and clean the cooling fins, squirrel-cage fan, air outlet, supply fan, condenser fins and chassis with a high-pressure washer and air-con disinfectant cleaner
  5. 5 Clean the drain pan and drain pipe, then extract all remaining wastewater from the unit
  6. 6 Rinse the filter and front panel with clean water
  7. 7 Wipe dry and refit all parts
  8. 8 Switch on the power and check that the air-conditioner is working normally
  9. 9 Clear the work area after completion

Split-Type Air-Con Cleaning Process

  1. 1 Lay waterproof sheeting at the work area (as required)
  2. 2 Test that the air-conditioner is working before cleaning
  3. 3 If it is working, remove the filter and front panel

Outdoor Unit Cleaning Procedure

  1. 1 Before cleaning the outdoor unit, check that it is working normally and whether scaffolding is required
  2. 2 If it is working, isolate the power and lay waterproof sheeting at the work area (as required)
  3. 3 Remove the outdoor unit cover for cleaning
  4. 4 Clean the condenser fins, fan blades and other outdoor-unit parts with air-con disinfectant cleaner
  5. 5 Rinse off the cleaner with a high-pressure washer
  6. 6 Wipe dry and refit all parts
  7. 7 Switch on the power and check that the outdoor unit is working normally
